Updates...

  • New bots: We are excited about the variety in these latest bot launches:
    • StableDiffusionXL turns prompts into high quality, expressive images within seconds. You can build bots on top of this with simple prompts! There are hundreds of image generating bots already created.
    • Web search is capable of conducting web searches as necessary to inform its responses and is great for queries that require up-to-date information or accurate long-tail facts.
    • GPT-3.5 Turbo-instruct from OpenAI is fine-tuned for instruction following and many people are finding it performs very well for specific tasks (e.g., playing chess at Elo 1800)
    • Solar is a fine tune of Llama 2 created by Upstage which scored especially highly on third party evaluations.
    • Code Llama is a new model from Meta focused on coding.
  • API v2: For developers who want to build a chat-based AI product and bring it to a mass audience quickly and cost effectively, we have made some major API improvements. Developers’ bots on Poe now have the ability to call any other bot on Poe for free and use their output as input. Bots can also now return images and Poe clients will render them as first class image objects, as you saw above with the StableDiffusionXL bot. We built the StableDiffusionXL and Web Search bots ourselves using the same API that we’re making available to everyone else, and made a large number of additional small improvements in the process. To get started building a bot, visit developer.poe.com for more documentation.
  • Updates to the Android experience: We continue to launch new features on Android and have recently introduced the ability to filter bots by category on the Explore page, and the ability to manually toggle between light and dark mode on the Settings page. More updates to Android are coming soon!
  • Multi-bot chat, a new way to seamlessly interact with multiple bots in a single thread! Multi-bot chat adds a new dimension to how you can use AI, bringing powerful bots like Claude 3 Opus, GPT-4, Gemini 1.5 Pro, and millions of unique user-created bots into a single thread. Interacting with multiple bots in one chat opens up many new and exciting possibilities. For example, if you are looking to learn more about a particular subject, you can query Claude 3 Opus, compare the response to GPT-4 and/or Mistral Large, and summon the Web Search bot to provide up-to-date information about the subject. This functionality includes two key components:
    • In-chat recommendations that suggest bots for you to compare responses
    • The ability to call any bot into your conversations by @-mentioning them and giving them contextual understanding
